RidE-Bike Warranty

E-Bike Limited Warranty: Terms & Conditions

We want you to keep enjoying your new e-bike for years to come. Your e-bike is under warranty from the moment you buy it; however, this applies strictly to bicycles purchased directly from RideBike.cy or our Approved Retailers in Cyprus.

Service & Maintenance Requirements

To maintain your warranty validity, the e-bike must be regularly maintained and serviced by a professional bicycle mechanic. Every e-bike is thoroughly checked and tested by our technicians prior to sale to ensure it leaves the store in perfect working condition.

Your Warranty Covers:

  • 2-year cover on the bike frame against cracking due to a manufacturing defect.

  • 2-year cover on core electrics, such as the motor, display, and controller.

  • 1-year cover on the Lithium-Ion battery (subject to the strict Battery Specific Terms below, covering manufacturing defects only, not capacity degradation from normal use).

  • 1-year cover on non-wearable mechanical parts.

What Your Warranty Does NOT Cover:

All bikes experience wear and tear, and there are situations clearly outside the scope of the manufacturer’s warranty. These include, but are not limited to:

  • Water Damage & High-Pressure Washing: E-bikes are water-resistant (for rain/splashes), not waterproof. Damage caused by submersion, high-pressure jet washers, or extreme weather conditions is not covered.

  • Software Modifications & Tuning: Any evidence of tampering with the motor’s speed limiter (derestricting/chip tuning), altering firmware, or bypassing factory speed restrictions will instantly void the entire warranty.

  • Commercial Use: This limited warranty is void if the bicycle is used in a rental program, bike-sharing scheme, or for commercial delivery services (e.g., food delivery), as this constitutes extreme wear and tear beyond normal consumer use.

  • Neglect & Abuse: Damage or failure due to abuse, accidents, misuse, improper repair, lack of servicing, neglect, or exceeding the manufacturer’s maximum weight limit.

  • Routine Maintenance: The warranty does not cover standard adjustments required during normal use (e.g., gear tuning, brake bleeding/pad replacement, tightening spokes, or tire punctures).

  • Consumables: Normal wear and tear of consumable parts (chains, cassettes, brake pads, tires, grips, etc.).

  • Modifications: Alterations or installation of parts/electronics not originally on the bike as sold.

Subsequent Ownership

Please note that your warranty is non-transferable and is only valid if you are the original purchaser.

Need to Make a Warranty Claim?

For any warranty claim to be considered, the e-bike must be brought in to the RideBike.cy store or the Authorized Retailer in Cyprus where you purchased it.

  • The bicycle must be in an assembled, reasonably clean, and sanitary condition.

  • It must be accompanied by the original, dated sales receipt (proof of purchase).

  • Any transportation costs to and from the service center are the responsibility of the owner.

Due to product evolution, some specific frames or electronic components may not be available for older models. In these cases, RideBike.cy and the manufacturer may elect to provide a replacement determined to be the most nearly comparable model. All determinations under this limited warranty will be made at the sole discretion of the brand manufacturer and RideBike.cy’s technical team, based on diagnostic evidence.

E-Bike Battery Specific Terms (Important!)

To maintain the right to free repair or replacement under warranty, the user must strictly adhere to the following operational rules:

  • Diagnostic Procedure: Any reported battery issues require the unit to be sent to an authorized service center for specialized computer diagnostics. This process will take the time necessary to fully verify the condition of the internal cells.

  • Mechanical Damage & Interference: Any signs of impact, dropping, water ingress, opening the casing, or breaking the warranty seal will result in the immediate loss of warranty rights and rejection of the claim.

  • User Negligence (Deep Discharge): Leaving the battery completely discharged for an extended period causes irreversible chemical degradation of the cells (cell death). The internal Battery Management System (BMS) permanently records the charging history. Damage resulting from deep discharge is classified as user negligence and is strictly not covered by the warranty.

Battery Maintenance & Storage Guide

Proper charging and storage are essential for battery longevity and maintaining your warranty validity.

How to Charge:

  • Always use the original charger provided with the e-bike.

  • Charge in a dry place at room temperature (ideally between 10°C and 20°C). Avoid charging in direct sunlight or freezing conditions.

  • Disconnect the charger once the battery is fully charged (green light indicator). Do not leave it plugged into the power outlet for consecutive days.

Long-Term Storage (When not in use):

If the e-bike will not be used for an extended period, you must protect the battery from degradation:

  1. Charge the battery to a level between 60% and 75%. Never store it fully depleted or 100% charged.

  2. Remove the battery from the e-bike.

  3. Store it in a dry, safe indoor location at room temperature.

  4. Check the charge level once a month and recharge back to 60-75% if necessary.
